About Me

I qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 2001.
Since qualification I have worked in both the NHS and Education service, before recently starting up in independent practice.

I have worked with Preschool and Primary aged children presenting with a wide range of speech, language and communication needs.
In recent years I have developed specialisms in both speech sound disorders and Developmental Language Disorder (i.e. ongoing and persistent language difficulties).
I also have experience in supporting children who stammer.

I am a certified Tutor for the Key Stage 1 and 2 Speech and Language UK Talk Boost Programmes, which are targeted school-led programmes for supporting children in mainstream schools with delayed language skills.

I regularly engage in Continuing Professional Development, and always strive to ensure that my intervention is evidence-based and effective, in order to ensure best outcomes.
I am a long-standing member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT), and have engaged in CPD opportunities such as through Clinical Excellence Networks and conferences.
I regularly participate in Clinical supervision, and have also provided clinical supervision to others
I am passionate about empowering and supporting others, always aiming to provide meaningful and useful advice and strategies to help those around the child feel more confident in supporting their speech and language needs.
Each child is an individual, with individual strengths and areas of need. I am always monitoring and reviewing a child’s progress, and adapting therapy to the specific needs and interests of the child.
Over the years I have built up a large range of ideas, skills and resources for helping children to engage successfully in therapy, to enjoy their sessions, to feel valued and comfortable, and to build their confidence.
